I need more Halloween

Halloween is over.  I love the excitement of waiting for a holiday.  All the fun festivities leading up to the big day is half the fun.  So needless to say, I kind of crash the day after.  There is this let down of sorts.  This deflated feeling of now what.  Normally, this feeling is accompanied with a small level of relief.  A peace of knowing all the busyness is behind you.  Side note: I do realize that the busiest of all holiday seasons is right around the corner.  However, on November 1st I am longing for the distraction.  There has been so much going on in my life that Halloween was a welcomed distraction.  And, this morning I am missing it.  I loved having all the silliness and fun filling my mind.  Halloween took me a million miles away from all the pressing stress and to-do list that are crowding my personal life.  Hopefully Christmas, with all it's distractions will be here before we know it.   But, for now here are some (okay alot) of halloween photos).

Sunday - Halloween Pre-gaming.

Special Halloween Apple Muffins for Breakfast.  This recipe is one of my favorites.  The only change I made is to use one cup of wheat flour and two cups of white.  Yum.

He wanted to take the pumpkin with him to bed.  Didn't quite grasp the concept that you can't really play with Jack-o-lanterns.

Halloween day -  In addition to Trick or Treating, Henry had a party at preschool.  Basically, he was on a sugar high all day.

Look what I found just laying in the yard.  I tried so hard to get a photo of both the boys, it just wasn't meant to be.

By the end of the night someone was more than a little tired.  This was the last house we hit up.  Because no one likes a whiny pumpkin.  We totally hit up downtown Cleveland again. I love living somewhere were we can just walk out our front door and trick or treat.  Not just trick or treat but do so in an area that looks like a scene from a movie.  I am always impressed with how much the homeowners get into to Halloween.  The houses are all crazy over the top.  And yes, it is crowded and you don't get a lot of candy but it is such a fun festive environment.  I love seeing all the costumes and meeting up with our friends.  It is one of my favorite things about living in Cleveland.  It is kind of funny because on the surface Cleveland looks like a pretty conservative town. I saw a couple of churches with anti-halloween signs.  But despite these few uptight folks the town seems to really get into the fun.  Don't get me wrong Cleveland is still pretty tightly wound but occasionally the city let's it hair down and goes a little wild.

On the way home Henry informed us that he needed more Halloween.  Don't we all need a little more fun?  I know right now I do.  So glad the holidays are almost here.
