The weekend. Snow? What the What?!?! One big post, with the longest title ever!

FRIDAY:

Here comes the snow!

It was sunny and in the 50's at the begining of this week. I had already gotten spring fever. I was day dreaming about trips to the park and babies in the swimming pool. Then BAM the blizzard of 2010. Okay, it was nowhere near a real blizzard, but still, it was a lot of snow for Tennessee. When I left my office for lunch on Friday there wasn't a flurry in sight. By the time I returned from lunch there were a ton of fluffy flakes falling from the sky. Within a hour they closed Henry's daycare, so I left early to save my baby from the storm. Once we got in the car, I had to answer the big question. Do I do to Hobby Lobby or home? Yes, that's right Hobby Lobby. You see, all week I had been planning on working on a little sewing project and I needed some supplies. I couldn't get snowed in without something to keep me busy! If I didn't have a project I would have to work on laundry. Boooo. The snow wasn't quite sticking to the road yet so I decided we were heading to Hobby Lobby (Hobby Lobby is around 3 miles from Daycare which is 3 miles from my house. I wasn't going crazy out of my way). The snow was pouring. We dashed into the store. While I was standing in the fabric section agonozing over what print to get, Jason called to see if I had made it home. I said "not yet." Jason immediatly asked "where are you?" , to which I reluctantly responded with the same level of shame that an AA member would confess to being in a bar, "Hobby Lobby." I think the other ladies in the store might have been able to hear him on the other end of my phone. "Hobby Lobby, Hobby Lobby! What is wrong with you? Have you looked outside! Go Home NOW!" After my scolding I decided to only purchase the bare minimum and head home before Jason's head exploded. As I approached the front of the store my jaw dropped. The parking lot was covered in snow. In 20 minuets it had snowed enough to cover the roads. Jason was right. What was I doing at Hobby Lobby!? Ahhh! Southern girls can't drive in the snow! Ahhhh! We paid for our purchase and headed to the car. I am happy to report that I made it home safe and sound. Here is what my street looked like a few minutes after I made it home:

SATURDAY:

I should have known better.

I woke feeling chipper. The whole town was a winter wonderland. I am going to spend my day milling around the house enjoying the snow outside while I worked on my projects. NOTHING, went the way it was supposed to. After Henry and I ate breakfast I decided to snap a few photos of the snow. I grabbed my carema and headed to the door. On my way to the door I decded that I needed a prop. It was too cold for Henry, so I called Ann. She has been behvaing so well I thought she would do fine without a lease. Oh how wrong I was.

Ann stolled out on to our front porch and then causally stepped on to the step. The feel of the snow was too much. It caused her inner idot to be released and she took off. At this point I started jumping up and down on my porch yelling for her. What had I done??? Henry was in his crib. I was just planning on snapping a photo from the porch. Ann was next door in a little grass spot playing so I decided to take this picture:

Then I realized that she wasn't going to return. I started calling her at the top of my lungs but she just kept running. I am sure I woke the whole street up. My neighbors now hate us. Then she started harassing a man who lives in the apartment behind us. I kept apologizing and trying to catch her. The man never said a word but kept starring me down with a look that said "Crazy yuppies, I wish you had never moved on to our street." Then Ann looked at me and took off out of my eye site. I totally freaked out. Jason was a work. I had Henry, it was snowy and I lost our dog. Not just any dog. Ann the crack head who would terrorize everyone she encountered. I started to panic. I needed help! Ben and Cassie came to my rescue. Unfortunately, this is not the first time they have had to help me with Ann. When I was pregnant Cassie had to come and help me wrangle Ann. Just as they pulled into sight I finally got Ann on the porch. So I tackled her. I mean hardcore football style. The whole time I kept thinking, what has my life come too. Here I am, still in my pajamas wrestling a 60 pound snow covered dog on my front porch. I thought, finally, I am in the clear. I have no pride left, but I have dominated Ann. However, the excitement of Ben and Cassie was to much for her. She squirmed out of my arms. I still thought I was okay. She wouldn't run now. Wrong. She looked at us and decided "I am already in trouble, I am gonna make the most of it" and off she went. Cassie headed inside to love on Henry and I took off to help Ben look for the idiot. Luckily, Ben was able to find her and get her in the house. Oh my God, I am forever indebted to the Williams. Thank you. Ann's punishment was to be put in puppy time out. However, she was so tired for all her shenanigans that she just slept. She is so lucky that I am attached to her and that I am glutton for punishment. I have decided that I know Henry's first sentance is going to be. "Ahhhhh! Ann! No! Explicative!"

SUNDAY:

Is there life out there?

While we had seen a few friends (Hi Ben, Cassie, Derece, Blaine and Ryker!), I hadn't left the house since Friday afternoon and I was totally starting to get cabin fever. I had finished my little project and needed an escape. Since it was finally sunny, we decided to take Henry out to see the snow. We tried to get him to make a snow angel. But he just starred at us confused. Poor kid.

After the winter wonderland weekend, they decided to close schools today. Which meant Henry's daycare was closed. So we got a snow day! Hooray! I got to catch up on all the things I didn't get done this weekend because I was chasing my dog and starring out the window. I got the laundry out and away, all of it, finally. Along with an list of other totally boring tasks like filing my taxes and mopping. Come to think of it, snow days aren't as much fun when you are an adult. All in all, I enjoyed the snow (some of it is still on the ground) but I am still ready for spring.

I loved the part where Ann stepped on the snow and you wrote, "it released her inner idiot". It made me laugh so hard! Love you guys.

Hate that I missed y'all this weekend. I'll be trekking up there again soon if you have room for one more in the house. :)
