I spent the day finishing my rag quilt. This is my first attempt at quilting of any kind. I got the idea to try my hand at quilting because I couldn't find bedding that I liked for my guest bedroom. I thought I would just make a quilt. Jason convinced me to try to make a small quilt before attempting a queen size quilt. I am grateful for Jason's wisdom. I majorly underestimated the time that it would take. I picked a really easy sewing machine quilting method. It still took me forever. Now that I am done I might make another small quilt but probably not a queen size one.
I won't lie, I am proud of myself for finishing this. It isn't perfect but I made it. I am working on bringing back the lost domestic arts. I have dabbled in canning and bread making. I would like to say that I know why these are lost arts -- they take forever! How did women do it in the past?

Love your quilt. My cousin has actually made several of these. I have been wanting to make one but just haven't found the time. I will have to call you for some help! or we could get together and quilt one day!
We should have a quilting day! I want to try to make another one.
WAIT JUST A MINUTE!! you called last week and said "I want to make a Quilt" and NOW YOUR DONE? That's NOT a long time! The problem is WE WANT IT NOW, that's why the art is fading. oh and the fact that women are working full time jobs, taking care of the family, and the house.haha
Who has time to make stuff? besides me. :o). LOVE the Quilt.
I am in awe of your domestic capabilities and I applaud you for that beautiful quilt....and for canning...and for baking bread.... I'm actually quite jealous. Darn you Jaime!
My quilt is in the hall closet waiting for me to finish it. I started it when I was 8 years old -- I am not kidding. But I'm hand sewing it and trying to work in the really crooked sewing from when I was 8, so it's a little frustrating. But if you started a quilt day, that would be amazing!! We could totally sit around and gossip and quilt like the old days. -- Oh yeah, I have a great bread maker too, but I also never do it because it takes too long. How sad.
